Pink card for Breast Cancer Awareness

Both Susanne and Nikki are having a blogcandy related to this months breast cancers awareness. The question was to make a pink card.
As many of you know I'm a last minute cardmaker, but I've made it in time.
for this card I've used this weeks sketch from Mojo-Monday.
I made this card for a very special lady, who's going through a very difficult period right now.
I love the Whiff Of Joy stamp and shows how much I care about her. The sentiment is very difficult to read, but it says:
What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.

Have a great afternoon,
xoxo Karin

Dutch Dare Challenge #21: Black-Pink and Purple

Wauw, it's already Thursday.
This morning I've been very sporty. My car needed to go to the garage for it's yearly check-up, so I took it there after dropping the kids at school and had to walk back.
Enough exercise for today. Now it's time for some blogging and cardmaking.

This weeks challenge over at the Dutch Dare Challenge is another colourcombo challenge.
We want you to use Black - Pink and Purple on your card.
There's a cute Rachelle Anne Miller stamp donated by the Scrapbookatelier for one lucky lady this week.

This week another christmas card. Wasn't planning on making one for the challenge on the Dutch Dare, but I had the perfect papers and flowers to match the challenge.
For this card I've used a sketch from Nikki, the perfect one for the stamp and papers.

Card Details:
Papers: Cardstock: Bazzill, DP - DCWV
Stamp: Magnolia
Technique: Pro-markers and a lot of Stickles
Embellishments: Beautifull flowers from Prima, gemstones were a gift from Linda

Thanks for stopping by,
xoxo Karin

A happy card suitable for 4 challenges

Goodmorning to you all.
I don't know how the weather is at your country/city, but overhere is so cold!!!
Last night when I wanted to go home after work I had to scratch my card windows.
There was so much ice on it. 1 am, tired from work and just want to go to bed and then I have to scratch for about ten minutes, arghhhh. Tonight I'm going to cover the windows so I don't have to scratch again in the middle of the night.
This morning I took the girls to school on my bike, no party either. Couldn't find my handgloves and right now I'm trying to warm them with a cup of hot coffee.
Reading all of this you probably have guessed by now I'm not a person for winter.
Enough about my dislikes about winter and the cold that goes with it, and on to my card for today.
I've managed to make a card that suits 4 challenges (wauw, it's been a long time since I've attented that many challenge in one week).
This cards suits:
High Hopes: a sketch from Katharina
Cute Card Thursday: The stars at night
This Thursday: Thrown a curve

Card Details
Paper: Cardstock - Color Core DP - We R Memory Keepers (white out collection)

xoxo Karin

I've been tagged

I've been tagged by my good friend Nikki.
I had to think really hard on some of the items, becuase I can only name 5 things.
and on some items I could mention at least a 5 more.
But here it goes

Things I love:

1. Hubby Ron and my 2 beautifull girls Ruby and Britt (don't had to think about that).
2. I love to read books about Egypt.
3. I love to go on holliday trips far away. ( but I think that won't happen again untill the girls are much bigger).
4. I love to watch science fiction series like Stargate, Stargate Atlantis and Star Strek (even the old ones with Captain Kirk)
5. I love to go to amusements parcs with Ron and kids, and see them having the time of their lives.

Things I don't love

1. Fights between the girls.
2. Winter, it's cold and wet and dark at 4 pm.
3. Drunk people ( ironic, because I work on a bowlingcentre where people drink lots of alcohol).
4. Being mad at one another for no reason.
5. Shopping on Fridays or Saturdays (way to busy)

Favorite Food/Drinks

1. Coca-Cola
2. Baileys on the rocks
3. Chocolate
4. Drop. I think only know in Holland and Belgium, and it's just as bad as chocolate. I'm sorry for all you other girls, but you really don't know what you're missing.
5. Potatoes, vegetables and meat ( very healthy).

Songs on your Ipod/playlist

I don't have a Ipod (way to modern) or a playlist, but here a my favorites

1. I love music of the 80's
2. I love reggea music (makes me very happy when it's cold or wet outside).
3. Michael Buble
5. lots and lots more

I want to tagg all the ladies that are on the Design Team of the x-mas and b-day cards challenge blog.

Have a great day,
xoxo Karin

My first Whiff Of Joy Christmas Card

Over at friday sketchers there's another great sketch made by Heidi.
And because I finally know this hyperlink thing works I can enter this weeks challenge.
It took me forever to finish this card. The girls are free from school this week so I'm spending a lot of time with them doing all kinds of things. And because our little dwarfs are on a very long holliday I have to do the house keeping myself. I love autumn, but only when it's dry. The girls are playing outside a lot but with all the rain they keep running in and out of the house without putting of their shoes. I keep cleaning the floor and wished the little dwarfs would come back from their holliday.

Cute High Hopes Fairy

After a very busy day yesterday, it is time to relaxe today.
Did some blogging and emailing and made a card that suits 2 challenges.
Over at A Spoon Full Of Sugar is a great sketch provided by Lim. And over at the High Hopes Challenge Blog they want you to use stitches on your card.
When I saw the sketch at A Spoon Ful Of Sugar I knew right away what stamp and what papers to use. The stitching I did by hand, because I don't own a sewing machine and I don't think I will be getting one. A few years back I've tried to use the one from my parents and I ended up wracking the machine.

Card details

Papers: Cardstock Bazzill, DP Creative Imaginations

Stamp: High Hopes, sentiment ???

Technique: Pro Markers, H2O's and some stickles

Embellishments: buttons from a old shirt, stars form a local Dutch Shop called Zeeman, glitterpen from the girls.

A very busy day and candy winner!!!!!!

Wauw, what a day I had.
This morning I left at 8.45 am together with the girls and my Sis and her daughter to go to the 10th anniversary concert of K3 (3 Belgium girls, singing girlie songs) in Den Bosch. Because my Sis is affraid of driving on the high way I had to drive. And it's a big adventure on Monday morning. Large trucks and busses think they are king of the road hopping from one lane to another not watching if there's anyone else on the road. I had to watch my .... and .... because the girls were in the car too. But we made it in one piece.
The concert was great. The girls had the time of their lives, singing and dancing on all their favorite songs.
When we got back at 2.30 pm there was an hour to tell dad how the concert was and show him the pictures we made, before we had to go to Britt's swimminglesson.
A quick dinner and of into the tub. Gave me the chance to do some quick commenting on all the new comments.
Right now the girls are sleeping, Ron is watching some tv and I am about to announce the winner of my candy.
********
But first I would like to thank you all for the sweet comments and mails about the new blog and candy. I just started blogging a few months ago, and in this time I met a lot of great people and some of them I can call my friends right now. Hope to blog for a long long time and keep meeting great people.
******
And now for the winner of my candy.
The winner is.............
Congratulations Annie.
Please send me your address so I can send you the great stamp and additional goodies.
*****
Thanks again and hope to see all of you on just christmas- and birthday cards
Have a nice evening,
xoxo Karin

Dutch Dare # 18: A christmas card

It's been a crazy week around here. Ron is home for a week now fighting his viral infection. a lot of his muscles are infected and hurt like .... There are no medicine for this, just resting and some painkillers. The girls are behaving as usual.... very busy when they get home from school.
And on top of it they've admitted my mum into the hospital last Tuesday. (It's the 8th or 9th time in a year so we make little jokes about it. For example: On Holliday again, it's a nice hotel you're staying in. And Wauw mum, thank you for waiting untill after my b-day (last year she and my mother in law where both in the hospital a my birthday).
Because I also work every Tuesday- and Wednesday night the days are a few hours short. This morning I wanted to make a post for the new challenge on the Dutch Dare blog and also on mine, what do you think: internet doesn't work, arghhh!!!!
*******
But finally I can catch up with everything.
This weeks challenge over at the Dutch Dare is to make a christmascard.
The DT girls did make some fabulous cards, and there's also a very cute stamp as a prize this week. So make sure to check it out.
Here's the card I made for the Challenge.
It's one in not so traditional christmas colours: Pink and black, but I really love the combination of those colours.

Card details:

Papers: Bazzill Cardstock, DP from DCWV

Stamp: a very cute Magnolia, sentiment made on the computer

Technique: Pro-Markers and stickles on the wings

Embellishments: Flowers from Prima, brad from Dovecraft, Cuttlebugfilefolder Swiss Dots, Nestabillities and the little stars are from a local Dutch Shop called Zeeman.

I really hope the peace and quiet will return pretty soon so I can visit all your great blogs on a daily base, instead once a week.

Have a nice evening,

xoxo Karin

I'm a year older today :(

As many of you know I'm celebrating my 36th birthday today.
Yesterday I had family and friends over to celebrate it and it was a great day.
From Ron and the girls I got beautifull flowers and a lot of scrapgoodies, wich I really, really love and can't wait to use.
From my friends and familymembers I got some great scrapbooking and craftingmagazines and a lot of money. All of them know how much I love to craft, but didn't know what to get me. So now I can spend it on whatever I like. And there are a lot of great things that are on my wishlist.
Take a look at the pictures and see what I did get.

I also received a lot of great birthdaycards from members of the Birthday list and The Dutch Yahoo Magnolia Group. I will put those in a slideshow in the next few days.
There are two cards I really want to show you.
The first one is from my good Friend Nikki and her sweet Family.
I love this new little Hangler girl and the colours of this card.
On the little red clip there's a small text that's saying XOXO, I always sign my mail, posts and comments with XOXO. So sweet to think of those little details.
Thanks Nikki, I love this card.

The second card I want to show you is also from a good friend: Linda.

And that's not all she did send me: I got two great christmas stamps, christmaspapers, flowers and ribbon.

Thank you Linda, your the best.

Tonight we will have a quiet night, with a beer, some snacks and a good movie.
A great way to spend my birthday.
Thanks for stopping by,
xoxo Karin

I'm a day late with my Friday sketch

I've been so very busy the whole week, I really didn't had the time to post my Friday sketch yesterday.
The sketch I have for you isn't one of mine. I saw this one on a Dutch Group I visit regularly.
It's such a great sketch, so I really wanted to share this one with you.
Take a look what I made of it..

This time I made a weddingcard for.... I have no idea. There are no weddings coming up in the near future, but when there is one... I already have my card finished. Normaly I'm more of a last minute person, but now I'm prepared.

As you all know I made it to the second round for the DT-call over at Silly Monkeys. They want us to choose 3 of our best projects. This is one of the 3 projects I've chosen. I love the design of the card and the romtantic look of it.

Card details:

Stamps: all Magnolia

Cardstock: Color Core

Papers and rub-ons: A wedding scrapbookkit from a local Dutch shop called Zeeman.

Embellishments: scrappersfloss, spacers, ribbon and pins from our local market and brads from Bazzill.

Technique: watercolour pencills, waterpencill, twinkling H2O's and pink Stickles.

Have a great weekend,

xoxo Karin

Dutch Dare Challenge #17: Wild Animals

A big thank you to all ladies that have entered our last challenge. I really loved watching all your beautifull male cards. Enough inspiration for me when I have to make another male card ( I think it's the hardest one to make).
This weeks challenge over at the Dutch Dare Challenge is:
WILD ANIMALS
For on lucky lady we have a new release High Hopes Stamp: the little baby dragon.
Here's what I came up with.

This cute images has been on my desk for a while now and never knew when to use it.

She doesn't seem very wild with her blanket, bunny and diaper. But I really wouldn't want to have her as a pet. They are better off in the wild.

Card details:

Cardstock: embossed Swiss Dots cardstock by Papicolor

Stamp: Whipper Snapper

Technique: Aquapencills and waterpen and Pro-markers

Embellishments: ribbon and button from our local market, scrappersfloss, faux dew drops and the big green flowers was part of a gift from my good friend Donna.

Thanks for stopping by,

xoxo Karin
