Dutch Dare Challenge #37: a sketch

Goodmorning everyone,
a quick post today, because in 20 minutes I have to drag myself to the dentist. If it was just for a check-up it wouldn't be so bad, but I have a big problem with one of my molars. In the back of my mouth I have just a half molar, so they put over a crown (don't know if I translated that correctly). Now there's a whole inderneath it and has to be repaired. They explained what they are going to do, and only the thought of it makes me really sick. Yesterday I almost called them to cancel the appointment. But I have to go someday and decided to be a big girl and just go.
This week we have a great sketch made by Cathy for you on the Dutch Dare.
when I saw the sketch for the first time I really thought I couldn't do it, because there are so many details. But when I got started the card was finished in the blink of an eye.
The stamp I used is from a small set of stamps from Kars, and the papers are from Daisy Bucket and Bo-Bunny.

Thanks for stopping by today and please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Mermaid Anya

Today I want to show you a card I made for a challenge on the Anya-blog but completely forgot to post.
I used a background stamp and the cute little fish from High Hopes which is perfect for this gorgeous little mermaid.
I knew the girls had some shelf-shaped beads somewhere, but try and find those small things in a room full of toys. But they have a better memory then I have and in less then a few minutes they knew where to find them.
Papers are from K & Company (Berry Sweet range).
Inside I made a pocket for some yummie coockies (which were eaten within 5 minutes after seeing this card).

Thanks for stopping by,

DT-card for JCBC challenge

Vacation is over, girls are back at school, hubby is gone to work... that leaves me home alone with to much to do in very little time.
The last week I didn't craft at all and was just on the internet for a few minutes each day.
The girls really kept my very busy and by the time they went to bed I was to tired to do anything. The only thing I did, was making a list with things I needed to take care of. Instead of getting shorter, the list kept getting bigger and bigger, and right now I think I will need the whole week to catch up with everything.
First thing on the list: my card for the Christmas and Birthday cards blog en making a new post on that blog. This week we have a great sketch made by Gry-Heidi, which I think can be used in a lot of different ways (can't wait to see what creative things you can do with this sketch).

The rest of the day I will spent on working my way through my to-do-list.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,

xoxo Karin

Yellow and Green on the Dutch Dare

Can't believe it's Thursday already. The girls are having a week of from school and are enjoying every minute of it. They spent a night at my sisters, play outside with their friends and keep colouring the cute Anya-images. Everywhere you go in our house there are coloured Anya's. Drives me really mad to find those images everywhere (even on the toilet and bathroom).
Today my friend is coming over with her 2 kids and our niece Dane is also coming over for a sleepover. Tomorrow we are going ice-skating if the weather will let us, so not much time for crafting or blogging the next few days.
Over at the Dutch Dare this weeks challenge is to use Yellow and Green as main colours on your card.
Paula from Pollycraft Designs thought we had seen enough red and pink cards the last few weeks and wanted to see some cards using spring colours.
Yellow and Green are so not my colours but I'm very pleased with the way my card turned out.

Hope you all enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by.

Geisha Anya for the JCBC-blog

Goodmorning everyone,
I hope you all had a nice weekend and were spoiled on Valentines day. Hubby brought me some beautifull flowers and the girls coloured a lot of their favorite Anya stamps for me.
We always think those kind of days are just good for one thing... commerce. When you buy flowers/roses in the week before Valentines day you pay a lot of money for them and if you buy them today you pay half. It's more special when I get flowers on a ordinary day of the week.
That doesn't mean I wasn't happy with them, I still think it's so sweet when hubby get's me flowers and when the girls make something special on which they are very proud.
But today it's an ordinary Monday, so that means a new sketch on the JCBC-blog. This weeks sketch is made by Kristin.
Just like the girls I adore those cute Anya stamps. I used the sweet Geisha download. Those downloads are really great for making small cards. You can resize them into any size you want.
But that's not all I made with this cute Geisha. Ruby and Britt have been colouring a lot of their favorite Anya's this weekend, but yesterday afternoon they wanted to do something else. I suggested them to make a beautifull painting. they love to paint, but we don't do that very often because they don't just paint the canvas, they also paint themselfs, the table and chairs.
And what did they paint?... a Anya mermaid. I used transfering papers to draw the lines and they painted it. Thought this was such a great idea, I made a Anya geisha myself. Who said Anya stamps are just for stamping and cardmaking. I also made a giftbox for this painting, makes a great gift for a little girls birthday.

Don't want to leave you without showing you the paintings Ruby and Britt made.
They would love to hear what you all think about their masterpeices. So hop over to their blog and leave them a comment

Ruby's painting

Britt's painting

Thanks for stopping by today.

Everything is blooming

Today my 3rd card using the Cateleynne papers from The Angel Company.
Really love those bright happy colours, make me wish spring was here. I'm so sick and tired of the rain and low temperatures. I want to go outside doing fun things with the girls. But I guess we have to wait a few weeks more before the weather will change a bit.
If you like those papers and images, hop over to Jany's blog. She's selling packages filled with those gorgeous papers and images, enough to make 4 to 5 cards.
Linda, Jill and Mada are aslo designing for Jany and have some great cards using these great papers.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend,

xoxo Karin

Button and Bows on the Dutch Dare

Today a really short post, because I have a million things to do before the girls are getting home from school.
This weeks theme over at the Dutch Dare is: BUTTONS AND BOWS
For my DT-card I used the gorgeous Bittersweet papers from Basic Grey and one of the new Magnolia stamps. The stitching on my card is done by hand, yes I'm completely mad, but since I'm a real nerd with sewingmachines it's the only way if I want them on my card. I'm not going to do this on every card, because it took me over 2 hours to do this.
I've used the great sketch over at Friday Sketchers for my card.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
xoxo Karin

Doodling on A Spoon Full Of Sugar

This weeks assignment over at A spoon Full Of Sugar is to doodle.
I don't doodle much on my cards, just some stripes and dots every now and then.
Because the papers I used on this card/candy giftcard are very busy, there wasn't much space to doodle, but I think this will do.
I used a very cute Anya image from the Greeting Farm. Did you know they also have a download section at their shop? If you don't like waiting just order some downloads and you can get to work right away.
I think I'll be back with my second candy gift card, because the girls are fighting over who's getting this one. So I'll put this one on a high shelf untill I've finished another one.

Thanks for stopping by today,

xoxo Karin

Sketch #18 on the JCBC-blog

Goodmorning everyone,
I hope you all had a nice weekend. Overhere nothing special happened. The girls spend a night at my parents house so Ron did have the whole Saturday afternoon for himself because I had to work. It was so very quiet when I got home from work, but it was also very nice to have a quiet evening just the 2 of us. My parents on the other hand were pretty busy. Remember I told you the girls got new inline skates?? Well my parents got some for our niece too (she also spend the night overthere) and they were skating in the house all day. My mum and dad had to make sure there were no accidents and that the girls wouldn't get into a fight because there wasn't enough space for the 3 of them. And when they got home yesterday they still were wearing their skates and they didnt put them of untill it was time for bed (if we would leave it up to them they would wear them in bed also :o) ).
Now on to this weeks sketch on the JCBC - blog.
This weeks sketch is made by Amanda and I think it's a very nice sketch for making quick cards.
Hop over to the blog to see what the DT-Members cam e up with this week.
Our sponsor for this week is Polly Craft Designs. Paula donated a very cute elves stamp from the Woodland collection.

Card Details:
Papers: Cardstock - Bazzill, DP - My Minds Eye
Image: Download from Polly Craft Designs (Albert)
Technique: Pro-Markers and Copics
Embellishments: all from stash

Everything is blooming

Today my second card using the Angel Company Cateleynne kit.
As I told you last week, one of my good friends Jany asked me (and three other very talented ladies) if I wanted to create cards with products from the Angel Company. Jany is a demonstrator for this company and she's selling small cardkits, enough for about 5 cards.
If you are interested in this kit just hop over to Jany's blog for more detail about the kit.

This week we had to follow this great sketch. Don't forget to have a look at the cards the other DT-Members (Linda - Jill and Mada) have created.
It's great to see how you can create such different cards using the same kit and sketch.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend,

xoxo karin

Dutch Dare # 34: a love themed card using no red and pink

With Valentines day coming up we on the Dutch Dare can't stay behind.

So this weeks theme is: A love themed card...... using no pink or red.

I had to think really hard on this one. I just bought some great valentines papers, but they are all in red and pink. Finding a love themed image wasn't that hard, I decided to use those cute birdies from CC-designs. Finding some papers that would go with it was a bit harder. But I found some nice papers from October Afternoon and I have to say I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.

This week we have a great prize for one lucky lady donated by Lime Light Paper Crafts. And you know what, you could make it a double challenge. Over at the Lime Light blog they are having a great sketch for you to follow and there's also a nice prize for one lucky lady entering that challenge (make sure you leave a comment on the Lime Light Blog if you want to enter their challenge).
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day.

What a view

Today the weather can't seem to make up it's mind, one minute it's snowing (just a little) and 10 minutes later we have rain. Great day to stay inside if you don't have to be outside. The girls really don't mind this type of weather, they are outside right now, trying out their new inline skates. hopefully I don't have to call a doctor for a broken leg or something.
While it's still quiet I'm going to show you a card that I made for 2 challenges.
Over at Friday Sketchers there's a really great sketch for us to follow and over at Stamp Something this weeks theme is: Summer in winter.
I created a little scene card using a Alota background stamp and a cute Tilda image from last summer.

Thanks for stopping by,
Hugs,
xoxo Karin

sketch # 17 at the JCBC challenge blog

Happy Monday everyone!!!!

Why I'm sounding this happy on Monday? Monday is always a day when I make time for myself. Did a lot of cleaning etc during the weekend so Monday is my day off untill the girls come home from school. Just doing whatever I feel like. 9 out of 10 times it will be something related to crafting (making a card, blogging etc).

This morning I want to show you my 2 cards (yes finally had the time to make both cards) for the Just Christmas and Birthday Card Challenge (JCBC). This week we have a great sketch for you to follow made by Janina.

And for 1 one lucky lady we have this gorgeous Sarah Kay stamp donated by Kort-og-godt, A norwegian shop owned by our DT-Member Kristin.

I hope you all have a great week,

xoxo Karin

A kiss for luck

Hi Everyone.
I hope you all had a great weekend.
Overhere it was very windy and cold even the girls think it's cold and stayed inside most of the time.
This afternoon we went to a indoor palyground where they could burn some energy. And that's what they did. When we got home at 5.30 pm they were so tired. Of to bed early, so we can have a nice and quiet evening.
A few days back I made this card which suits 3 challenges.
Our Creative Corner: at least 2 hearts
A spoon Full of Sugar: Love is in the air
Cute Card Thursday: Valentines

Inside

Thanks for stopping by and have a nice evening,

xoxo Karin
