DDCC #68: Joy folded card

Goodmornig everyone,
so nice of you to stop by on the last day of the year.
Just one more day and then it's already 2010. Tonight we are having 4 friends over to celebrate Ne Years Eve with us, so ti's going to be a lot of fun, beer, wine, champagne and fire works.
The girls are really excited because for the first time they can stay up untill Midnight.
Have to do some last minute preparations and then I hope to have a few hours to make a few cards.
On the last day of the year we have a great challenge for you over at the Dutch Dare Cards Challenge.
Monica created a step-by-step tutorial on how to make a Joy Folded card.
Here's my contribution for this weeks challenge.

I also want to show you 2 cards I received from my 2 beautifull girls.
Yesterday they got really creative and they both made me a card because I'm the best mum in the world (that is as long as they get what they want, if not I'm the worst mum in the world (lol)).
First card is created by my 5 year old Britt. She created a nice pocket with a few stampprints ready to colour.

This card is created by my 6 year old Ruby. Yesterday morning we were blogging around and she saw a card which she really liked. She made her own version of this card.

They would really love to hear from you what you think about their cards. So hop over to their blog and leave them a comment.

Happy New Year to all of you and see you in 2010!!

xoxo Karin

Cardmaking Class by Email (5)

Happy Wednesday everyone,
Boy what a week we had!!
In my post from last Thursday I mentioned we had a lot of snow and how I was dreaming of a white christmis. Well that dream was over a few hours later. I took the girls to school at 5PM that night for their christmas dinner. When I came home was unpacking the dishwasher when I heard a big BANG!!!. When I looked out the window I saw that a small buss was parked in the back of my car, which was parked in front of the house.
It's an old car so hopefully it can be repaired itherwise it's bye bye car and then I have to work, get on my bike or take the bus to the things I have to do.
So you can imagine my dream of a white christmas was over in just a few minutes.
And I needed to change all my planns for the next couple of days. Now one day before christmas I still have to do some christmas shopping. Luckely the girls are at my parents right now so I'm off in a minute to do some last minute shopping.
Because of all the chaos I completely forgot to make a post of the card I made for the Cardmaking Class by Email.
Last Thursday night we made a nice card on the Scrap Online Group at PCP. And Friday I emailed the step by step instructions to everyone that joined the Cardmaking Class by email. if you want to receive your weekly copy of the Cardmaking Class just send me a email and I will send it over.

For my card I used the gorgeous papers Farm Fresh from October Afternoon.

Love the bright colours and great designs, and this cute image from Stamping Bella perfectly matches with those papers.

Well I'm off to do my last minute shopping.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day,

xoxo Karin

Dutch Dare Challenge #67: create your own embellishments

Hi everyone,
so nice of you to stop by today.
Today we had our first snow. The girls really enjoyed the snow and they were all wet from the snowball fights they were in.
Hopefully the snow will stay for another week so we finally will have a white christmas again... I'M DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!.
This week we have a fun challenge at the Dutch Dare Cards Challenges.
This week we would like to see your handmade embellishments.
Handmade flowers, handmade buttons... anything.
My handmade embellishments are the flowers.
I crochetted them myself.
Papers are from October Afternoon - Farm Fresh -
I used Distress Ink on the edges and the image is a cute Gorjus Girl.

Hope you all are having a great day,

xoxo Karin

Cardmaking Class by Email (4)

Hi everyone,

can't believe it's Friday again. Didn't had the chance to make a post the whole week. I've been helping out at school again the past few days and at night I had to work or was to tired to do anything.
I managed to create a card for the Cardmaking Class by Email.

The ladies on the mailing list will receive a new cardmaking class every Friday, with step by step instructions for a card. They work their way through this class page by page so they have no idea what the card is going to look like.

Want to receive your weekly copy of the Cardmaking Class??? just me a email and it will be send over.

This week I created a easy card, perfect for those last minute christmas cards that still have to be made. Besides a piece of ribbon and a button I didn't add any embellishments. I think it's perfect this way.

For my card I used papers from Jillibean Soup (Grandmas Christmas Soup) and My Minds Eye papers from last year (christmas trees).

The ribbon and button are from stash.

Make sure you stop by tomorrow, because I'm in a fun Christmas Gift Tag Blog Hop which is organised by my friend Monika. You will see some great Gift Tags created by some very talented girls (Cindy Hafner, Maria Bell, Jodi Collins, Danni Bindel, Allison Filo, Denise Marzec, Melissa Sauls, Linda Beeson and Kim Hughs), some of them even have a small prize for one lady leaving a comment on their blog.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend,

xoxo Karin

Cardmaking Class by Email (3)

Hi everyone,
i hopeyou all are enjoying your Sunday.
Overhere it a day to do relax after all the excitement from yesterday. yesterday it was Sinterklaas in Holland and i spend all morning with the girls on the riverside watching sinterklaas and zwarte Piet arrive by boat. After that we watched the parade in town and when we got home it was time to bake some muffins for grandpa and grandma who came over to celebrate this festivity with us. The girls got really spoiled and now they have enough new toys to play with for the next couple of months.
While the girls are playing with their new toys, I finally have time to make a post which I should have done last Friday.
Friday I emailed the ladies on the Cardmaking Class by Email list the 3rd card.
This time I created a pocket card.
Want your owm weekly copy of the Cardmaking Class by Email??.... just send me a email and I will make sure you get one each week.
Enjoy your Sunday,
xoxo Karin

Scrap Online / Cardmaking Class by email card

Goodmorning everyone,
it's Friday again and we I'm preparing for a very busy weekend. Tomorrow we have to go to a Sinterklaas party over at Ron's work and this Sunday we are celebrating a early Sinterklaas evening with my family. The girls are so excited about these events nad I'm completely stressed out (not knowing what to buy them (everything they have put on their wishlist is so very expensive), that I'm glad when it's december 6 and the old man gets on his boat again and returns to Spain for a whole year (LOL).
Today I want to show you a card I created for the Scrap Online group on Paper Craft Planet.
A very simple lay-out, but with a lot of layers.
I didn't add a sentiment, because I don't know who will receive this card.
I will add it when I've figured that one out.
If you can't make it to the Scrap Online on Thursdaynights, the step by step instructions on how to create this card are now available by email. It's called the Cardmaking Class by Email, and it will be send to you every Friday morning.
Sign up for this Cardmaking Class now, because in the near future (probably after new year) a few very talented ladies will create a step by step card for the Cardmaking Class. How about Claudia Rosa, Maria Bell, Bev Rochester and Jaqcui.
To make sure you won't miss anything sign up today by sending me a email.

I'm also entering a few challenges with this card.

Stamptacular : nature-tacular

Caardvark: colour a stamped image

Creative Cardcrew: favorite things (I love my new snowflake punch)

Everybody Art: christmas

Flourishesnewsletter: holliday themed card

Paper Take Weekly: christmas crackers

Charismacardz: anything christmas

Scrapmagasinet: christmas

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend,

xoxo Karin

Dutch Dare: All in your pocket

Goodmorning,

I know I'm 5 days late with me card for the Dutch Dare Challenge, but things are really chaotic overhere. A few birthdays the past few weeks, our neighbours/friends having a little baby girl, buying presents for Sinterklaas, just a few additional things to my busy schedule.
I hardly spend any time crafting and as far as posting on my blog....
But I still want to show you the card I made for the 'all in your pocket challenge'on the DDCC.
Monica created this challenge and she wrote down all the instructions for this card.

Have to say I cheated a little bit, but I'm very pleased with the result.
For my card I used products that are in this months kit from the Monthly Card Kit Club (which is still available).

This card also fitts the next challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today,

SOL card

Goodmorning everyone,
as some of you know I'm hosting the Scrap Online Group on PCP.
We try to create a card online every Thursday night, following instructions given every 5 to 10 minutes.
But the past few weeks we weren't able to de one because of all kind of reasons.
The card I'm showing you today has been on my desk for a few weeks now waiting to be posted on the SOL-Group.
I was really looking forward in doing this SOL last Thursday, but sadly we had to cancel this weeks SOL again. The ladies who wanted to attend this SOL all were having problems getting their kids into bed. Normaly I am the one who has to run upstairs several times before they finally are going to sleep, but that night they behaved like little angels and fell a sleep right away.
There are also ladies who really want to attend a SOl but are having trouble with the timedifference. I have been thinking about this problem for a long time ('really can't do a SOL in the middle of the night) and I have come up with some kind of solution.
Every Friday (the day after the SOL), I will send everyone that is interested a the SOL by email. I call it 'Cardmaking Class by email'.
You receive the full SOL (pictures and matching measurements of every step) in a Word Document, so you can work on your card whenever you want.
When you've finished your card, just post it on your blog, leave me a comment on my SOL-card with a link to yours so I can come over to visit.
If you want to receive your copy every week, just send me a email and I will send you the copy of this week.

Now on to my card.

For my card I used the beautifull papers from Bo-Bunny and inked all the edges.
The image is a cute download from CC-designs and I coloured her with aquapencils and used sansodor to blend.
the background is sponged with distressink.
Thanks for stoping by today and have a great weekend,
xoxo Karin

Merry and Bright

Morning everyone,

just got back from a fieldtrip with the kids from Britt her class.
We went to a environmental centre near the school where the kids had to do a lot of fall themed assignments, like gathering certain leafes, tasting marmalade made of things that grow there, search for flowers that still bloom in this time of year etc.
The kids were having so much, they didn't want to go back to school. But sorry kids, mum is frozen and really needs a few big cups of coffee to warm up again.

While doing so I want to show you a card I made last week, using one of the cute CC-Designs Digi-images. It's one from this summer and right now they have the same image holding a christmas ornament in stock.

This card fitts the following challenges:

Craftycardmakers: use some kind of stamping on your card
Cupcake Craft Challenge: Snow Something
Digital Ink Challenge: Quotes
ATS Weekly Wednesday Challenge: use an older set

Card Recipe:
Papers: Cardstock-Color Core, DP- Basic Grey
Stamps: Image-CC-Designs digi image, sentiment-Autumn Leaves
Technique: Aquapencils and sansodor for blending
Tools: Border Punch from Fiskars
Embellishments: snowflakes and brads from stash

Instyle Christmas Card

Hi everyone,
nice of you to stop by today.
This week it's my turn to provide the sketch on the Just Christmas and Birthday Cards Challenge.
It's a very easy sketch, just the way I like them.
Don't get me wrong, I really love the Bev and Rach style cards, but for some reason I can't fitt all those embellishments into one card. I've tried for so many times, but they always end up in the binn.

Our sponsor for this week is Instyle Stamps and they kindly donated a few images for the DT to work with. Because I had to create a christmas card I used cute Sandy. I coloured her with my aquapencils and used Sansodor for blending.
I have no idea which brand the papers are from, just had a little left-over and this piece had no name on it.
Thanks for stopping by today,
xoxo Karin

Hoot hoot Hooray

Goodmorning everyone,
sorry for not being around the past week, it's been busy as usual.
And earlier this week I did hurt one of my fingers, and just holding a pen/pencil hurted so much, I wasn't able to do any colouring. But I had to make a card for the Dutch Dare Challenge, so I used stickers instead of a stamped image.
This weeks challenge is to use felt on your card.

Thanks for stopping by today,

LLWWC #10: Ribbon

Goodmorning everyone,
this week my last card as a guestdesigner for La La Land Crafts. Boy those 2 motnhs have passed so very quickly. Fabulous stamps to work with, perfect organisation of things form Jane and Irina, 10 great challenges and a great blog hop with I enjoyed organising. Really enjoyed the past 2 months and it's been a great experience. I'm going to miss you girls!!!
Enough with the sentiment here's this weeks challenge...
This weeks challenge (#10) is being hosted by Lisa and here is what she came up with:"My challenge is to use ribbon as your main embellishment. It doesn't have to be the only one, but let's show off our best ribbon design work!"
When I'm blogging around I see al the great things you ladies do with ribbon, but when it comes to using it myself it's a complete disaster... never can seem to get the knot/bow right, always think I'm attaching the ribbon in wrong place etc..
So sorry for not being so creative with ribbon this time.

This card also fitts the following challenges:
Stampin for the weekend: A Haunting good time
Stamp Something: Halloween Something

Card Recipe:

Papers: Cardstock- Bazzill, DP My Minds Eye (Boo to you) - Nikki Silvis (boo-tifull)

Stamp: Witch Rosie from La La Land Crafts

Technique: aquapencils and sansodor to blend

Embellishments: ribbon and cute ghosts were a gift

Thanks for stopping by today,

xoxo Karin

Hope this day is as special as you are

Happy Monday everyone,
Last day of the girls week of from school. Ruby and Britt have been asking me to take them to a indoor playground the whole weekend, and with all the rain outside today we dicided to go there.
It was quiet overthere, almost all kids are at school already, the girls teachers had a study day today, so that means a extra day of for all the kids at school. So no pile ups at the trampolines and slides, which means no screaming en crying kids at the table telling me they had to get into a fight to get on something.
They were so tired after playing there the whole day, that they were sleeping before I left the bedroom.
Now muumy has time to update her blog.
This week we have a great sketch from Janina on the Just Christmas and Birthday Cards Challenge Blog.
Really had so much fun creating this card. The past few week my mojo was on vacation and it took me forever to finish a card. But I had no hard time on creating this one.

This card also fits the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday: Candy Corns

Card Recipe:
Papers: Cardstock - Color Core, DP and Die-Cut - My Mind's Eye (pretty please)
Stamp: digital download from Pink Cat Studio, Sentiment - CC-Designs

La La's weekly Wednesday Challenge #9: GLITTER

Goodmorning everyone,
so nice of you to stop by today.
Challenge #9 already on La La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge.
This weeks assignment.... GLITTER!!!
Boy did I had a hard time finding something with glitter for this challenge.
I used to have a lot of bottles with stickles, but the kids in Ruby's class used all of it a few weeks back on cards they created. Didn't had the chance to replace them yet. And as for glitter in bottles... I banned them from the house. The girls decided to make a few beautifull glitter cards for my parents... they were beautifull but I found glitter everywhere in the house for several weeks. Everything I touched had glitter on it. So no more glitter in our house.
After digging deep in my stash I found some black glitter paper and used this for the bats and spider (doesn't really show on the picture).
And as for my card... I call it a freestyle card or in other words DON'T THINK JUST CUT AND GLUE CARD.
A lot of Dutch ladies use this style of cardmaking and when I'm out of inspiration I use this technique.
For my card I used Witch on the broom Rosie from La La Land Craft and I coloured her with aquapencils and used sansodor to blend.
Papers are from My Mind's Eye - Boo to you.
Bats, spider and text are cut with a die-cut from Cuttlebug.

This card also fitts the following challenges:
Pile it on challenge: ready for Halloween
Cute Card Thursday: Spook Fest
Paper Play Challenges: Favorite Embellishment (mine are gemstones)
Stampin B's: Halloween
Creativ Friday: Halloween
Stampartic: Halloween
Cup Cake Craft Challenge: things that go bump in the night

Have a great day,

xoxo Karin

DDCC #62: a card recipe

Goodmorning everyone,
can't believe it's been over a week since my last card. Last week has been completely crazy and when I finally had a few moments for myself I just wanted to sit down and relax. Took me forever to finish this weeks DT-card for the Dutch Dare Cards Challenge. My mojo is completely gone, but hopefully it will return very soon so I will have more joy in creating cards.
Anyway this weeks challenge on the DDCC is a card recipe.
We want you to use:
2 different pieces of cardstock
2 different pieces of PP
2 flowers
2 brads
2 buttons or gemstones
for my card I used this cute Wizard Maya image from La La Land Crafts.
Papers are from Nikki Sivils and My Minds Eye.
flowers from Crea Motion and buttons and brads are from stash.

Thanks for stopping by today,

xoxo Karin

La-La's Weekly wednesday Challenge

Goodmorning everyone,
It's Wednesday again so that means a new La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge.
This week all the guestdesigners could pick a challenge, and to give everyone the chance to pick a theme they liked we created a recipe challenge for you.
here's what we want you to use on your card:
The colours chocolate, red and beige
2 pieces of patterned paper
Embossing
Paper piecing
Scallops
I think it was the hardest challenge ever. It first started with finding the right papers, had to dig through all my stash to find some that matched ( I couldn't find plain red DP so I cheated a little and used some red and pink, hope you don't mind). Next challenge was to fit all the other things in. Have tried different designs but and this card I liked best.
This card also fitts the following challenges:
Basic Grey - Embossing
Both sides of the Paper - distressing (doesn't show very well but I've distressed the edges on the red/pink DP)
Whimsy Stamps: Buttons
Thanks for stopping by today,

La-La's weekly Wednesday Challenge

Goodmorning everyone,
it's Wednesday again so that means another fun challenge at La La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge. This weeks challenge.. paper piecing. I really had a hard time with this one. I tried several things with the 2 La La Land stamps I had and I wasn't satisfied with anything. But luck was on my side, this weekend my new La La Land Crafts Halloween stamps arrived, and Wizard Maya was perfect for piecing.
I created this popcorn box (popcorn was gone in 10 minutes after taking this photo), using a part of Paper Trey's 'Pick a Picknick' template.
Again I used the yummie stuff that's in this months Kit 'Boo-tifull' which is still available on the Monthly Card Kit Club.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to enter my little mini kit giveaway.

Halloween card and another little giveaway

Hi again,
second post for today.
Today I created a card using goodies from this months kit from The Monthly Card Kit Club called Boo-Tifull.
Each Big Kit contains one of the cute Greeting Farms stamps and I used the cute little witch stamp.
I followed this weeks sketch on Friday Sketchers and this weeks theme on The Greeting Farm ( Fresh Friday Farmer) is embossing.

And for one lucky commenter I have this cute little Card Kit available, with lots of goodies from the September kit and some Halloween themed images.
All you have to do is leave a comment on this post before Friday, when I announce the winner of this kit. Spreading the word about this little giveaway would be great but isn't required.

If you are interested in the complete kit, just hop over to the Monthly Card Kit Club and read all about the kits. September kit is still available.

Have a nice evening,

xoxo Karin

A stampprint folder and mini kit giveaway

Happy Friday everyone,
so nice of you to stop by.
Today I want to show you a stampprintfolder I created. Saw this folder somewhere on the web (can't remember where, sorry). I made some adjustments on the measurements so the stampprints would fit in.
This cute little stampprint folder fits the folowing challenges:

I'm giving away my stampprint folder filled with some yummie christmas stampprints from Magnolia, High Hopes, Hanglar and Whipper Snapper. I'm also including this mini kit so you can create some fabulous cards/projects.

Just leave a comment on this post (spreading the word about the little giveaway would be great but isn't required) and this monday (Sept. 20th) I will announce the winner.

Have a great weekend,
xoxo Karin

La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge #5

Goodmorning everyone,
thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all are enjoying your week.
This weeks challenge on La La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge is hosted by Maureen, and she picked the theme: embellish it. She wants us to use 3 different kind of embellishments on our cards/projects.
For my card I used the cute Window La La again. This adorable image can be used on almost any type of card and she's so much fun to colour. I'm still into summer colours so I used the beautifull Citrus papers from DCWV.
Thanks for stopping by today,
xoxo Karin

DT-Call for the Monthly Card Kit Club

Hi everyone,

as some of you know I've started the Monthly Card Kit Club 2 months ago.
A new Kit every month in 2 sizes, the big kit and the mini kit.
The kit includes a lot of yummie goodies, enough to create 4 to 5 cards/projects.
This kit is perfect for ladies who want to have new craftinggoodies every month without spending a fortune on it.

I wanted to create samples for the kit, but because I really don't have the time to create them I'm looking for 2 ladies who want to create samples using things from the kit.

You will receive a complete kit every month and all I ask from you is to create at least 1 card/project each week and publish them on your blog and on the Monthly Card Kit Club. It will be for at least a 3 month term.

If you are interested please make a post about the DT-call and show me 2 cards/projects you think represent your style, then leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog. If you want more info, please send me a email.
The DT-Call closes on Friday Sept. 18th

Have a great weekend,
xoxo Karin

Dutch Dare #60: colour inspiration

Hi everyone,
so nice of you to stop by today.
Really short post today, because there's nothing exciting going on overhere. Highlight of the day sofar is that I have been shopping at my favorite scrapbookstore and spend way to much money on all kind of new goodies. Not all for me (have been shopping for the October Kit, that will be available on October 1st on The Monthly Card Kit Club), but in the end it's was a lot of money. But I always say, everybody has a hobby and hobby's always cost a lot of money.
This weeks challenge on the Dutch Dare Card Challenges is a colourinspiration challenge.
Thought it would be fun to create 2 newborn baby cards, one fro a girl and one for a boy mixing the colours pink and blue.

Thanks for stopping by today,

xoxo Karin

LLWWC #4: Distressing

Morning everyone,

it's Wednesday again, so that means a new challenge over at La La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge.

This week it is Kathy's turn to think about the challenge, and here's what she wants us to do: DISTRESSING

This can be with inks, sandpaper, tearing... anything.

I used Wondow La-La (again) for my project. I ordered one of the Timeless Templates called 'Card Couture'a few days back at Papertrey Ink and created this stampprintholder for all my La-La Land stampprints.

I also created a giftcard using parts of the templates.

Card Recipe

Papers: Color Core Cardstock, DP- DCWV - Citrus

Stamp: Window La La from La La Land Crafts

Technique: Copic Markers

Embellishments: Flowers - Prima, buttons and ribbon from stash

Have a great day and see you all tomorrow with my card for the DDCC.
