My first DT-card for Stamp with Jany

One of my good friends from Puerto Rico, Dianette, asked me and 3 other very sweet ladies if we were interested in designing cards for the Angel Company which she represents as a demonstrator. Didn't need much time to think about that, because I think they have great products which aren't available outside the US.
Together with Linda, Jill and Mada we will show you a card every friday using products from the Angel Company.

For this month Dianette did send us the Cateleynne kit. Fabulous bright coloured design papers with a tropical twist.
In this kit you'll find 3 sheets of 6 x6 dp, 3 squares 3 x 3 dp, 6 strips 3 x 6 dp and 4 A2 sized white cards with stampprints (if you use these papers with care you should be able to make 4 to 5 cards with them). If you are interested in buying one of these sets (about $5 without shipping) hop over to Dianettes blog for more details.

Here's my first card using these great papers. And if you want to see more card made with these papers hop over to the other girls blogs.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend,

xoxo Karin

I've been photo tagged

I've been photo tagged by my good friend Nikki, and it's so much fun.
This time you don't have to make a list with things about yourself, no you have to publish a photo.
Here's how it works:
Go to where you store your photo's on your computer. Go to the SIXTH folder and pick the SIXTH photo. Post that photo on your blog along with a short story about it.
Tag six people and leave a comment on their blog letting them know you chose them.

So here's my Sixth photo from the Sixth folder.

It's a photo of Ruby (4 months old) together with Ron.

When my memory is still right she was watching soccer together with Ron. As a baby she loved watching soccer. She could sit that way for a long time and when we were lucky she fell a sleep. And when we didn't had that much luck she also watched the Sunday night movie.

Now I would like to tag:

Moni - Heike - Annie - Julie - Linda - Jill

Can't wait to see which sixth photo you all have stored in your sixth folder

Have a great day,

xoxo Karin

Goodmorning everyone,
Thursday already and for me it's weekend. So far this has been a 'normal' week.
No one's sick, no big cleaning projects and the girls are very easy going the last couple of days.
The only person that I'm very worried about is my mum. Some of you know that both my parents didn't have much luck with their health the past 1 1/2 year. My dad is doing pretty fine considering the circumstances. But my mum is a completely different story. She's didn't feel
a 100 % one single day in the past 1 1/2 year. She's been in the hospital for about 6, 7, or 8 times (I really can't remember how many times, but when the girls can find grandma's room in the hospital with their eyes closed it must have been a lot).
If I had to make a list of all the things she suffered and all the medicine she's still has to take to keep everything under controle it would be the biggest post I ever made. Right now she has the flu for the 6th or 7th time in 3 months. All of this is affecting her so much, it's a big surprise she's not in a very big depression. The most frustrating thing for me is that there's nothing I can do to help her with this. The only thing I can do is pray for some nice weather with better temperatures so she can go outside a bit more. With these temperatures she's very affraid to go outside, so she's only outside to get some groceries and that's pretty much it. Because she is at home so much I gave her my aqua pencils and a lot of stampprints to colour. She doesn't have any goodies to make cards so I'm trying to cheer her up a bit by making little packages with papers, flowers, ribbon brads etc. I told her that when she's finished her first card I would publish it on my blog. So ladies, stay tuned for my mums first piece of art!
Sorry to have bothered you with my worries, but it's something that keeps me really very busy.
Now for the more fun things in life.
Over at the Dutch Dare this weeks theme is to make a THANK YOU card.
I received a beautifull RAK package from my good friend Donna a few weeks back with a lot of goodies perfect for this card. It's one of the rare times I didn't use a stampprint as the main image of my card.

Thanks for stopping by today,

xoxo Karin

Sketch #16 on the JCBC challenge blog

Goodmorning everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and are up for another creative week.
I know I am. This weekend there was no time for crafting. We are having local championships at our bowlingcentre and because I'm one of the few people who don't mind working mornings at the weekend I was so lucky to work both days.
The postive thing about it: I can go home early and can have some quality time with Ron and the girls. The grils are completely into bowling on the Wii, so that's what we did when I was home.
And it's so hard playing bowling on a computer. Ron and I both played bowling for more than 25 years, but when it comes to bowling on the computer we both are loosing from the girls. Very frustrating for the two of us, but the girls are having a great time when they both are winning.
Today I'm planning on catching up on several things. One of them is posting our new sketch on the JCBC Blog. This weeks sketch is made by Mada and I had really enjoyed this sketch.
Here's the card I made for this challenge.

Card Details
Papers: Cardstock - Bazzill, DP - Creative imaginations
Stamps : Hooty Owl Stamps from the Pink Cat Studio
Technique: Pro-Markers, Copic Markers, Circle Nestabillities
Embellishments: all from stash
*******
Before I end my post I wanted to tell you about Zoes Blogcandy.
This very creatice and sweet little girl is giving away this great candy because she almost reached 5,00 hits (CONGRATULATIONS SWEETIE!!!!).
If you have the time, hop over to her blog and enter her candy. And while you're there take a look at all the beautifull cards this sweetie has on her blog

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day,

Dutch Dare #32: A mosiac on your card

A short post today, because I'm still not feeling very well after spending almost 3 days in bed and on the couch with the flu.
Tuesday it felt like I was hit by a big bus, yesterday it was a smaller one, and today it's a bike that hit me. The smalest in a line of 3 but still good for feeling very cold, having a head like the biggest mellon you can think of (complete with red cheeks a red nose and a look like I didn't sleep in days) and let's not forget the my bones that hurt like crazy.
I was so glad I finished my Dutch Dare card this weekend, so I didn't have to worry about that.
This weeks assigment on the Dutch Dare is to create a card with a mosaic on it.
This is what I came up with for this challenge.

Card Details:

Papers: Cardstock - Color Core, DP - Chatterbox (Courtyard)

Stamp: Download from CC-designs

Technique: Pro-Markers and Copics, Nestabillities Ovals

Embellishments: Flowers - ?, Brad and ribbon from stash

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,

xoxo Karin

Sketch # 15 on the JCBC

Can't believe it's monday again. This weekend went by so very fast, I had no time for crafting or blogging. Saturday I had to work and yesterday I really needed to reorganize Ruby and Britt's playroom, I wanted to do that for several weeks but every Sunday there was something keeping me from that ( what a bummer ;o) ).
To give you an idea what it looked like: imagine a toystore and imagine a bomb. Put those 2 together and you have our playroom.
I can think of better things to do on a Sunday afternoon, but when I finally started, I became a real freak. The girls love Polly pocket, Little Petshop, Playmobill and Barbi, but everything was stuffed into a few boxes. I did put everything on the floor and put everything in the boxes where they belong. What's the use of that? (it's going to be a mess by the time they go to bed).. I have no idea.
Today we have a real nice sketch from Simone on the JCBC.
Because it has so many layers I had to make 3 different cards before I thought it was suitable for the challenge.
For this card I've used the gorgeous Libby downloads from Grab-a-doodle and the papers are downloads from the Just an old fashioned girl collection over at the Pink Petticoat.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day,

xoxo Karin

Some sweet candy

This post will stay on top untill January 16th.
Scroll down for newer posts.
A new year and that means a lot of new resolutions.
One of the resolutions I have for this year is to participate more often in all the challenges that are posted on all the great blogs.
I always spent way to much time in blogging around finding them, and when I do I write them down on small pieces of paper and end up loosing them.
To make a end to this I created a new group on Paper Craft Planet: All the challenges you can think of in one group.
The idea is to make a list with who is posting what challenge on which day.
But guess what: It's a lot of work and I don't know all the challenge blogs there are.
That's why I'm giving away some sweet candy to one lucky lady.
A brandnew clearstamp from Lelo-Design called "you go first"
And a 6x6 paperpack from Basic Grey -Sultry-
What do you have to do to be in for the draw:
1. leave a comment on this post
2. Join me on this new group ( if you aren't a member of Paper Craft Planet you can create an account, and then join this group) and help me make a complete list
3. Spread the word about my candy on your blog
You can enter this candy untill Friday January 16th.
Have a great weekend
xoxo Karin

Dutch Dare Challenge #31: antoher colorcombination

Yesterday afternoon I took the girls to one of my favorite scrapbooking stores. And of course they had to shop too.

They both already know the glitter paper section is forbidden territory (1,50 to 2,50 Euro for 1 piece of papers), but weak as I am I told them them they could pick one piece of those fancy papers. Because I wanted to do some shopping myself I didn't pay that much attention on what they were putting in their shopping basket. They did ask me if they could have some flowers and rub-ons too, and as they were told they picked both of one (my sweeties can be vrey brave).

When we returned home they were putting all their new goodies on the kitchentable and showed me everything with pride.

At first I was shocked, but a minute later I had to laugh. They had 7 patterned papers each, and not a sinlge one was below 1 euro. When I told them they had picked the most expensive papers there where (all papers with velvet, embossing etc), their answer was: 'Mum you just said we could pick one paper with glitter!!'. And that was so true. I forgot to tell them that all embossed and with velvet covered papers were forbidden territory too. Have to remember that for the next time we go shopping.

Enough about our (very expensive) shopping trip and on to this weeks challenge on the Dutch Dare.
This weeks challenge is to use the colors GREEN - BLUE and BROWN as main colors on your card.

I already made my DT-card a few days back, but when we were shopping yesterday I found some fabulous papers from Kaiser Crafts which were really perfect for this weeks challenge.
Because I had to work yesterday evening I had to made my new DT-Card this morning. The ink and glue was still wet when the picture was taken.

Card Details

Papers: Cardstock - Bazzill, DP - Kaiser Crafts

Stamp: Sweet Ebony

Technique: Pro-Markers

Embellishments: flowers - Prima, buttons from stash, faux dew drops

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day

AHOY

Today we are going to have a family meeting at one of our local pubs/restaurants.
The four of us and my mum, dad, sister, her hubby and her 2 girls have this kind of familymeetings a few times a year.
Today we are going to a restaurant where the have an ice-skating lane next to it. Today is the last day of skating there so we will let the girls skate for some time and afterwards we wil go to the restaurant and have some drinks and snacks. They have a small kids playground so the girls can enjoy themselfs overthere.
I have just a little time to show you a card I made for 2 challenges.
Over at Mojo Mondays they have a great easy sketch for us to follow. And over at Cute Card Thursday they want us to use something new we received for christmas.
As soon as i saw the sketch i wanted to use the cute Marine images from Hangler and I knew I had some leftovers from Cosmo Crickets -Dutch Girl-. The nesties set was a gift from Ron and the girls for christmas.

Hope you all are having a nice Sunday too and I will be back tomorrow with my DT-card for the Just Christmas and Birthday Cards Challenge

Dutch Dare Challenge #30: Triangles

After a short break we are back with a new challenge on the Dutch Dare.
This week we would like you to use at least 3 triangles on your card.
For one lucky lady there's a real cute stamp from Lelo-designs.
I made a birthday card for a little child. I used lots of happy coloured papers, buttons and great stamps from High Hopes.

Sorry for the very short post today, but I spend almost the whole morning at garage.
I couldn't clean the windows of my car anymore, and with this type of weather it's really dangerous driving around without this working, so I really had to go this morning.
Took me almost 2 hours of waiting but it's working again.
Have to pick up the girls in less then an hour and I have to do a milllion things before I go.

Have a great day,
xoxo Karin

Nikki's sketch on A spoon Full Of Sugar

It's so very dark overhere, I have go outside to be able to good photo's. 3 minutes outside with
-5 C is no fun when you don't have your coat on. Last night we've reached - 15 C. That didn't happen for about 12 years. And at the news they are telling us it will keep below 0C the whole week (at night -10 C _ -15 C).
I'm not a Winter person, but the girls love the snow and ice-skating.
I'd rather stay inside a spend my time on crafting.
This week there's a fabulous sketch from Nikki on A spoon Full of Sugar.
Great for making quick cards.

Card Details
Papers: Cardstock - Color Core, DP - Stacy Claire Boyd.
Stamps: Sweet Ebony, sentiment - ???

All our christmas stuff is back on the attic (wow, do we have a big livingroom again), hubby is at work and the girls are back in school. Finally everything is back to normal.
Don't get me wrong, I love all the festivities in December, but it seemd there wasn't one quiet moment during that whole month. Just running around getting everything organized for Sinterklaas, several birthdays, christmas, new year and taking care of each other when we where sick. And because I didn't wanted to skip any challenge on the blogs I'm a DT-Member for I had to find some time to make my cards.
I was so glad we decided to skip a week on the Dutch Dare and the Christmas and Birthday cards blog, it gve me a bit space to get roganized again.
But now everything is back to naormal we have a great new sketch (made by Linda) for you on the JCBC-blog.
Here's what I came up with

It's called: All the challenges you can think of in one group, And I hope that with your help it will be a very long list with all the challenges that are being posted.
For me it would be so much easier having all the challenges on one page.
So join me in this group and help me make this a very long list. I have some candy involving this group.
Now for my first challenge card of this year.
The Theme is: Use Lime and Black as main colours of your card.
And here's what I came up with.
