My Friday sketch #4 and Cutecard Thursday

It's Friday again (wauw time goes by so very quickly) and that means a new sketch and a card.
This week I also made this card for a challenge. This weeks theme over at Cutecard Thursday is: in the water. For this card I used some very old papers from Scenic Route and a very cute Magnoliastamp.
In an hour I have to pick up the girls from school and then I will take them shopping. Ruby's wants real earrings, and although I told her it would hurt a bit she's really excited about it.
Britt said yes at first but when I told her it would hurt a bit she decided to wait a few years.
Instead of earrings she wants a new toy. She's so cleaver: Ruby gets earrings so I can pick something too, she said.

Have to run

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend

Dutch Dare Challenge: A Card For A Girl

This weeks theme over at the Dutch Dare Challenge is to make a card for a girl. Now that shouldnt be a problem with 2 girls of my own. Enough pink papers and girls stamps to choose from.
This weeks sponsor is Pink Persimmon and they've donated this great stampset.
The papers used are from Imaginisce -Baby Power-, the girl stamp is a Hangler and the leaves are from Magnolia.
The sentiment I made on my computer.

Thanks for stopping by and see you all tomorrow with my new sketch.

This is as bright as it gets

I made this card late Thursday night, but didn't have the time to post it yet. This one covers two challenges.
Over at
papertakeweekly there's a fabulous sketch provided by Katharina.
And over at
Cute Card Thursday they want you to use BRIGHT COLORS.
They want bright colors??
This is as bright as it gets. It didn't seem that bright when I finished it late at night, but when I saw it in the morning at daylight it really was bright. The papers I've used are from K and Company -Berry Sweet- and the stampprint from Papilio was a gift from my good friend Nikki.

Thanks for stopping by.

Friday sketch #3

OK, I'm a day late, but as you can read in my post from yesterday we've had a birhtday party from Ruby. She had such a great time and was spoiled with lots of presents. I've posted some picuters of her birthday on her blog.
I had such an headache yesterday, I didn't feel like posting this late last night.
But here's my 3rd sketch. The papers I've used are from Making Memories and the stamp is a Hangler.
Feel free to use this sketch for your own use. Please leave me a comment when you've used one of my sketches, I would love to see what you've created with them.

Have a great weekend.

Treatbags for Ruby's birthday

Today my oldest daughter Ruby is celebrating her 6th birthday (congrats to you my sweetie).
At school they are celebrating her birthday, and I wanted to make something special. And it's just me to start with this at the last minute.
A few weeks back I saw those cute treatbags on 2 sketches 4 you.
It looked great and easy. Well, easy it was but it took me a lot of time to make them. I only had to make 45 treatbags. For the kids I filled them with some winegums, chocolate and stickers and for the teachers only chocolate.
Ruby really likes them and that makes it all worth while.

Dutch Dare Challenge #11

I was so very busy with the treatbags for Ruby's birthday tomorrow, I almost completly forgot to post the new challenge over at the Dutch Dare Card Challenge.
Normaly Monika makes the new posts, but since she's on holliday for 3 weeks I'm supposed to do this. I've finished Ruby's treatbags (I only had to make 45 of them and will post pictures of them tomorrow), I've posted the new challenge and there's just enough time to make a post on my own blog.
This weeks challenge is to make a GET WELL CARD.
Again I've used papers from Stacy Clair Boyd.
And I love this great Tilde stamp (feel sorry for her wrapped up in all those bandages).
Thanks for stopping by.

A Spoon Full Of Sugar

This weeks challenge over at A Spoon Full Of Sugar is a sketch for us to follow. The sketch is made by Debbie. I love sketches (it takes away half the work) and this one was a joy to make.
The papers I've used are from Imaginisce. I have those papers for a long time but never used them, because I think there's so many (dark) green on it. I'm so very used to make cards with happy colors, the dark ones stay on the shelf.
But here's the result.

Friday sketchers

The second week of school already for the girls, so it's very quiet at home during schoolhours. You should think they are tired when they come home, but they are so full of energy it sometimes looks like I'm having 4, 5, or 6 children instead of 2.
Although I'm very busy making treatbags for Ruby's birthday Friday I've managed to make a challengecard.
This weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers is provided by Mumur from France.
This is what I came up with.

Thanks for stopping by.

It's friday again, here's my second sketch

It's friday again, for most of you weekend but I have to work tomorrow.
Last week I've posted my first sketch and I think I'm gonna post one every Friday. That way I'm forcing myself to use my own creativity, instead of spending hours on the internet searching for great cards and sketches. Feel free to use this sketch for your own use. Please leave me a comment when you've used my sketch. I would love to hop over to your blog and watch what you've created.

For this this card I've used papers From EK-Success (Stacy Clair Boyd). I love those papers because the colors and designs are very girly. The sentiment I made on my computer and the stamps are from Magnolia.

Have a great weekend.

Dutch Dare Challenge

This weeks challenge over at the Dutch Dare Challenge is to use an animal print/design on your card. I always think I have lots of time for making cards, and as usually I had to make a quick one because there wasn't enough time (I think you all know what I'm talking about).
For my DT card I've only used cardstock from Coredinations. These papers are made to use in combination with the cuttlebug. You run your piece of paper through the cuttlebug and afterwards you use a piece of sandpaper to give the embossing another color.
Quick and easy ( I say that a lot don't I).
I have no idea what kind of stamp I've used, so ladies if you know what brand they are from please let me know. There's not much coloring on the sheep (I've never seen a blue sheep before) so I used a lot of stickles on them. To bad you can't see that on the picture.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Spoon Full Of Sugar: Secret Message

This weeks challenge over at A Spoon Full Of Sugar is: SECRET MESSAGE.
Finaly I was able to make a card right away. Normaly I have to think about so many things before I start making one: what papers, what colors, what image etc etc. Within 10 minutes I had everything I needed, and it took me 1 hour, start to finish, to make this one.
The papers I've used are from EK-Success (Stacy Clair Boyd), the image is a Rachelle Anne Miller (who doesn't know that!!) and the metal flower I bought at a local Dutch store.

My first sketch

This morning I was awake very early. Even the girls were sleeping. I sat down with a cup of coffee and half sleepy I started drawing ( there are always papers and some pencils on our kitchentable). A few minutes later I drew my very own sketch, and you know what: I liked it. Normaly I blog around on the internet searching for sketches. The sketches on 2 sketches 4 you are my favorite. Easy and not to busy. The one I drew is just like that.

After dinner I finally had some time to make a card of the sketch.
The papers I've used are from My Minds Eye and the stamp is one from Precious Moments.

Feel free to use the sketch for your own card. When you do please leave me a comment.

I would love to see what you've created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Gift box tutorial

I saw this cute little giftbox on Lizzie Anne Designs, and had to make one myself.

I made a step by step tutorial of it.

Cut a piece of cardstock 4 1/2"x 4 1/2"

Score at 1"around all the edges of the cardstock. Than score the diagnal lines.

Fold all the scored lines, and glue the pointy folded pieces or use sticky strip glue.

The bottom of the box is finished now.

Cut your backgroundpaper to 5 1/2" x 11".

Add sticky strip tape on the bottom and on 1 side of the backgroundpaper.

Peel off the bottomstrip. Lay your box along the bottom of the backgroundpaper, so it is even along the bottom. I start my background about half way on the box so the seam will be at the back of the box at the end.

When you are almost at the end peal off the side sticky tape and glue this together.

Now you need a strip of cardstock 11"x 2". If you have one use a split punch to make a scalloped edge. I don't have one, so I used a die-cut from Bazzill to make the edge. After finishing the strip I did cut off 1/2"to make it a bit thinner.Glue it around the box.

Make 2 tabs and glue them on top of the box. Pull the ribbon through and tie it.

Add you decorations and your box is finished.

I hope you'll like this tutorial, and are going to create your own one.

Please leave a comment overhere when you've finished yours. I will stop by and have a look at your great design.

I'm looking forward to see your designs.

Thanks for stopping by.
