First challenge on High Hopes challenge Blog

Last Saturday High Hopes Stamps has launche their own challengeblog.

to celebrate the kick-of one lucky lady will receive over a dozen of the new released stamps. Challenge #1 is to make a birthdaycard and include brads in your design.

Here's what I came up with....

It's a very big folded card. I saw this card on someone's blog (I forgot who's). I wanted to use a lot of stamps on my card and this one is perfect for that many stamps.

The measurements I used are as follows: 2 pieces of cardstock 15 cm x 30cm. Score the first piece of the cardstock at 15cm and fold (this makes the tallest part at the back).

Then score the second piece at 3cm, 12cm, 21cm and 25.5. Stick the 3cm fold to the bottom of the first card. Fold all the other score lines to create the concertina effect.

Design Paper: Anna Griffin

Stamps: high Hopes, Setniment text is also Hogh Hopes but made on the computer

Technique: aquapencils and waterpencil

Embellishments: Scrappersfloss, velvet laces and brads from Bazzill.

Silly Monkey DT-call

Finally it's weekend for me. Normaly I work every Saturday afternoon, but the past two weeks I had to work the whole weekend. But now the kids are at school, hubby is at work and I have the most part of the day for me!! Have to do a million things today but I wanted to make this post first.

Over at Silly Monkeys they are looking for a new DT-member. Untill last Friday you could enter by following a sketch made by Nikki.

And because I liked the sketch and wanted to make a card anyway, I thought why not give it a shot.

When I hopped over to the Silly Monkey blog just a few minutes ago I saw to my surprise I made it to the last 18!! Yippie!! Never thought I made a chance with all those great ladies entering the DT-call.

For stage 2 they want us to show us 3 creations that we think is out best work and most representing our style. So ladies please let me know what you think is my best work so far.

And now for the card I made for this DT-call.

It's a x-mas card in not so traditional colours. I love the purple and pink. Papers are from Basic Grey (Fruitcake), flowers are from Prima and the cute image is a Precious Moments.

The sentiment is made on the computer (I've got to get me some x-mas sentiment stamps).

Fridaysketch #8

Where does time go. It's friday already and that means a new sketch and card.

Last week has been so very busy that all my cards are a last minute action. In fact, the glue was still wet when the picture was taken (about 10 minutes ago).

And the coming week it will be the same. I have to work the whole weekend and that means one day less of crafting.

The sketch and supplies for this card were on my desk for about a week, but just this morning I had the time to make this one.

The papers used are from Basic Grey (fruitcake), the big snowflake is made with the cuttlebug and the sentiment is made on the computer.

Dutch Dare Challenge #16: A card for a boy/man

Last Tuesday I went shopping with the girls.

Ruby was very easy going and liked everything. At one point I had to say to her that we had more than enough for the time being. Britt was angry because she couldn't have a icecream and didn't like anything. Very frustrating. After one hour running in and out a lot of shops, we had bags full of clothes for Ruby and nothing for Britt. When we were back at the first shop I told her to pick something or we would go home with nothing for her, suddenly everything she disliked before was 'so cool'. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Both are very happy with their new clothes and I'm hoping we don't have little wars at morning when I ask Britt what to wear today.

Enough about the kids and shopping. Back to today.

This weeks challenge on the Dutch Dare Challenge is to make a card for a boy/man.

I think these are the most difficult card to make. and the ironie of this is: I made this challenge myself.

But I've managed to make one.

Papers are from My Mind's Eye, chipboard sentiment from a local Dutch shop, and the little star is drawn by hand.

1 Card for 2 challenges

A quick post today. Have to pick up the kids in half an hour and I'm going to take them shopping in town.

Ruby has grown so much she really needs some new winter clothes. And for Britt... she doesn't grow very fast (doesn't eat much and is very active so she burns everything direcltly) but every morning we have a small war about what to wear that day. I've tried to pick her clothes the night before so I don't have this early at morning, but the next morning she decides they aren't "cool'' and the whole drama starts again. I'm going to let her choose some things she really likes hoping our mornings will be quiet.

This morning I made a card thats suits 2 challenges.

Over at Sketch Saturday there's a great sketch to follow and at Cutecard Thursday they want to see food on your card.

Because I had to make a birthday card to complete my own challenge ( at least 1 x-mas and 1 B-day card each week) I used a nice cupcake stamp.

The papers I've used are from EK-Success ( Stacey Clair Boyed).

The stamp is colored with my H2O's and watercolorpencils.

A spoon Full Of Sugar: Christmas card

This weeks challenge over at A Spoon Full Of Sugar is to make a christmas card.

Because I challenged myself to make at least 1 Christmascard and 1 Birthdaycard (I'm always short of those and have to make them last minute) I had to enter this one.

For this card I've used a piece of DP I can't remember the name of , because it's a left over from last year with no name on it. The embossed swirls are made with the Cuttlebug. The sweet Hangler stamp is colored with my new pro-markers and I've used a lot of stickles on it, which don't show on the picture.

Candy Time, I'm almost at 10,000 hits

Fridaysketch #7

It's friday already, in half an hour I have to pick up the girls from school and than it's over with the quietnes. They have found a secret house somewhere in thg bushes and I have promissed them to have a look at it this afternoon. If there is one thing I don't like it's crawling trough bushes with all it's ugly creatures.

But I always tell them you have to keep your promiss, so I'll be crawling through bushes lateron.

Back to todays sketch and matching card.

It's a very simple sketch, perfect for the rather busy papers I used, they are from Making Memories and I'm totaly in love with this line of papers.

Dutch Dare # 15: No square edges on your card

Earlier this week in challenged myself (and everyone else who's short on birthday- and christmas cards every time) in making at least 1 b-day card and 1 christmas card each week.

Well for this week I've reached my goal. Untill the end of the year I have to make 15 card of both categories. I've finished 1 from both. Wauw, what a acchivement.

For my DT-card I've used papers and tags from The Paper Salon.

The beautifull Christmas flowers are from Primamarketing.

Some dewdrops, rubb-ons from Bo-Bunny and brads from Rayher for the finishing touch.

Note: I think this is the most embellished card I've ever made.

Normaly I keep it simple, but I really like the result.

Our Creative Corner

Birthday cards and Christmas cards. You can't seem to have enough of them. I'm always late creating those two type of cards. On the 'Happy Birthday' Blog we have 36 ladies, sending each other birthdaycards, and with family and friends added to those 36, I think I need about 90 Birthday cards each year. And with all the Christmas cards I have to send this year, I think I need to get me someone for housekeeping.

Am I the only one who's always starting late with this or am I not so different from all of you?

Fridaysketch #6: my first christmas card

It's so very strange to work on Christmas cards when the sun is shining and you can walk outside with only a t-shirt. But I really had to make a start with my Christmas cards. I only have to make about 60 cards, so plenty of time (so not true!!).

For the card I've used DP from Dream Street. The cute Precious Moments stampprint was a gift from Heidi (thank you for the great prints girlfriend). The flowers and brad are from Hobbycafe.

Dutch Dare Challenge #14: a sketch

This weeks challenge at the Dutch Dare Card Challenges is a sketch.

This sketch is made by one of our DT-members: Dianette.

It took me forever to finish my DT card. First I couldn't decide on the papers, and when I finally picked the great papers from Basic Grey I couldn't find the right stamp. To big, to small, not fitting to the papers, you all probably know what I mean.

But This morning I finally finished my card and I am pleased with how it turned out.

I was just looking at all the challengeblogs and came across the challenge "Autumn Haze"on Papertakeweekly. Normaly I don't make my DT cards for other challenges, but with not much time to craft this week I think I can make acception.

Sarah Kay Challenge

This is my first entry for the Sarah Kay challenge.

I remember that when I was a little girl I got a Sarah Kay card game when I was in the hospital. I was to little to read the text on the cards and couldn't play the game. I just watched those cards all day and admired the cute images. Funny to see that 30 years later those images are very popular again.

The papers I've used are from Making Memories.

The checkerpapers have no name on it, so I can't tell where they are from.

Little Sarah is completely colored with H2O's.

I start to use those H2O's more and more because I think they give the stamps more expression than my watercolorpencils. Only problem is that I don't have all the colors yet, so all images have yellow hair.

But with my B-day coming up in a few weeks and hubby doesn't know what to buy me, I think I will buy me some extra sets.

Shame on me, I forgot another birthday.

With all my on blogs, the blogs of all you talented ladies, the challenge blogs and the Dutch Magnolia group I'm a member of I keep forgetting a lot of birthdays. Well it's not completely true, i write them down on hose yellow post-it papers stick them on anything close to my computer. But there are so many of them, it's one big yellow mess on my wall. I've got to organize this!!!!

But I've made up for all the late birthdays and made belated cards all sunday.

This one I made for two challenges: This week there's a great sketch over at Stampinglinkstolove.

And over at cutecardthursday the theme is week is : PRETTY IN PINK.

Cake anyone?

Just a quick post before I'm going to watch some tv with my hubby.

Today I made a card for the challengeblog Paperminutes.

They have a great and easy sketch this week. It just took me 15 minutes to make this one.

If they all would be so easy I could make at least 5 a day.

Anyway, I used one of the newer Magnolia's.

I think this Tilda is looking a bit sad. Mayby everyone is on a diet and don't want to taste her delicious cake. Me neither, had enough cake the last few weeks. I colored her with my watercolorpencils and blended them with a waterbrush.

Ruby's birthday party

No new cards to show you today.

Instead I wanted to show you this picture

Ain't that sweet. The 11 kids from Ruby's birthdayparty.

All in one row, being quiet and watching other people play bowling.

And now imagine loud music, a lot of flashing discolights and smoke videoclips on big screens and 11 kids with to much energy.

Ron and I had our hands full in controling them.

They were running, dancing and bowling all over the place.

There was so much noice, the kids only heard us when we were very close to them.

But they all had a great time (for most kids it was their first time on a bowlingalley).

It's weekend!!!!!. I'm free from work the whole weekend. Normaly I work on Saturday afternoon, but Ruby is celebrating her b-day for the kids from school tomorrow. She's taking 10 kids Magic Bowling at the place I normaly work (so I won't miss it to much). It's nice to be a guest for a change.

Because I had so much to do today, the sketch of this week is a easy one.

A Spoon Full Of Sugar: anything but a card

This week on A Spoon Full Of Sugar they want you to make enaything but a card.

Last Sunday a uncle of Ron was celebrating his birthday. He likes wine, so we bought him a bottle of redwine. But when I got home I realized that I forgot to buy some nice wrapping papers. The only papers that were in the house were bright pink papers with princesses. Not very suitable for a 75 years old male. So I made a nice hanger for the bottle.

Picking apples for papertake weekly
