JCBC sketch #60

Happy Monday to you all.

Don't think I've gone crazy (posting twice in one week), just had a great day last Thursday and decided not only to make my card for the DDCC but also the one for this weeks challenge on the JCBC blog.

This week have a great sketch for a Criss Cross Card from Kristin, sadly enough it's her last one because she decided to step down due to other commitments.

Here's what I came up with.

Thanks for stopping by today,

DDCC #75 : a gable box

Hi everyone,
I'm back!! After 2 months of no blogging and no cardmaking I'm back. At least I think so. The past few months I've been in some kind of winterdepression. Completely no energy and no inspiration. For someone that can't sit still for more then 5 minutes it's really weird to sit and do nothing for most part of the winter. But spring finally arrived here in Holland, and with the sun shining more and more every day I feel my energy slowly coming back.
Today I want to show you my very first project after 2 months doing nothing. It's a cute gable box which is this weeks challenge over at the Dutch Dare Card Challenge. The pattern for this box can be downloaded on this weeks challenge.
It's nothing fancy but a great project to get me starting again.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your weekend.

Cardmaking Class by Email (7) - A Calender

Goodmorning everyone,
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.
Yesterday I had to work and today we are visiting Ron's parents because his dad was celebrating his 79th birthday yesterday. The girls are making him birthday presents right now, so that gives me time to write this post.
Friday I sended everyone the 7th Cardmaking Class by Email. This week no card but a calender.
First I created the base of the calender where I'm going to attach the monthly calender pages with little magnets (you can also use some removeable tape... this way you don't have create a new base every 2 months. Just remove the page from the past month and attach the next month on it.)

Then I created the calenderpage for the month of February.
I created the calender page in a word document, if you aren't able to create one yourself you can create your calenderpages on this site.
The papers I used are from Making Memories - Love Struck - a fabulous new line perfect for Valentines day.
The image is a cute digi-image from the Greeting Farm which I resized to fitt to the page.
If you want to receive your weekly Cardmaking Class by Email just send me a email and I will send you this weeks copy a.s.a.p.

There are a few challenges which match this project:

Bellichallenge - hearts

Crafty Creations Challenge: Valentines or Love

A Spoon full of sugar: lots of layering

Creative Card Crew: punch it

Paper Take Weekly: Pink

Crafty Cardmakers: what's new (my papers and cute image)

Kaboodle Doodles: Anything but a card

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your Sunday.

100% Natural

Happy Tuesday everyone,
today I want to show you a card I created for the Scrap Online Group on Paper Craft Planet and for the Cardmaking Class by email. Every Thursday night we will make a card online following instructions given every 5 to 10 minutes. The ladies attending have no idea what the card will look like during the process.
And every Friday morning there's the Cardmaking Class by Email.
Same card we made the night before but now as a Word File. To experience the same thing as the ladies do on Thursday night you have to work your way through the pages one by one.. no peaking on the last page.
If you are a adventures lady and are interested in receiving this Cardmaking Class by Email just send me a email and you will receive your first CCE this Friday.
I promisse you I have a great project for you this Friday.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your day,

Just Christmas and Birthday Cards #54

Goodmorning everyone,
I hope you all had a great weekend.
Our weekend was nice and relaxing. The girls were in their PJ's all day Sunday and the highlight of the day was going to to the Mc. Donalds in their PJ's (we didn't get out of the car, we went through the drive-through).
Today I want to show you my card for the JCBC challenge.
Can't believe we are already at challenge #54, where does the time go??
This weeks sketch is created by Melissa and I think it's a great one.
I cheated a little on the challenge... I used Valentines papers and I didn't add a sentiment. You all think it's a valentines card, but I think it makes a perfect birthdaycard for a little girl.
For my card I used the gorgeous papers from Cloud 9 design (St. Valentine collection). And this cute ladybug stamp is from Stamping Bella.
Thanks for stopping by today,
xoxo Karin

Valentine giftbox and matching card

Goodmorning everyone,
With Valentines day coming up in a month I wanted to work in advance a little bit.
I created a cute little giftbox and matching card, using the gorgeous papers from MME - Beloved. And the cute stamp is from MFT - Pure innoncence. Was blogging around a few weeks back and came accross a few blogs showing those cuties and fell in love with them.
I'm entering this set into the beloved challenge which Joanne has set on het blog. She's asking to create a card/project using 1 (or more) of the following things:
watercolouring, MFT's pure innoncence, MFT's bling pot, Beloved paper MME, pearls and sewing machine.

Have a great weekend,

xoxo Karin

Bellarific Friday Challenge

Good Morning everyone,
so nice of you to stop by today.
It's been over a week since my last post, and what a week we had over here.
I think I haven't seen that much snow in the last 15 years. The girls are very excited about it, but after falling on my bud several times.. I'm so ready with the snow!!
I'm really looking forward to see the sun again.. but that's wishfull thinking for the next couple of months I guess.
Only positive thing about that much snow, is that I don't go shopping that much so we save a lot of money this month (lol). Hubby will be pleased about that one.
Today I want to show you a card I made for the Bellarific Friday Challenge where they asked us to make a back to school card.
The image i used really reminds me of the lazy days we are having when the girls are free from school. We love walking around in our PJ's all morning (and sometimes the whole day) and when we do we look a lot like Alexis.
The papers I used are from October Afternoon and the sentiment was made on my computer.

I'm off to dig out my car to get some groceries... thanks for stopping by!

DDCC #68: Joy folded card

Goodmornig everyone,
so nice of you to stop by on the last day of the year.
Just one more day and then it's already 2010. Tonight we are having 4 friends over to celebrate Ne Years Eve with us, so ti's going to be a lot of fun, beer, wine, champagne and fire works.
The girls are really excited because for the first time they can stay up untill Midnight.
Have to do some last minute preparations and then I hope to have a few hours to make a few cards.
On the last day of the year we have a great challenge for you over at the Dutch Dare Cards Challenge.
Monica created a step-by-step tutorial on how to make a Joy Folded card.
Here's my contribution for this weeks challenge.

I also want to show you 2 cards I received from my 2 beautifull girls.
Yesterday they got really creative and they both made me a card because I'm the best mum in the world (that is as long as they get what they want, if not I'm the worst mum in the world (lol)).
First card is created by my 5 year old Britt. She created a nice pocket with a few stampprints ready to colour.

This card is created by my 6 year old Ruby. Yesterday morning we were blogging around and she saw a card which she really liked. She made her own version of this card.

They would really love to hear from you what you think about their cards. So hop over to their blog and leave them a comment.

Happy New Year to all of you and see you in 2010!!

xoxo Karin

Cardmaking Class by Email (5)

Happy Wednesday everyone,
Boy what a week we had!!
In my post from last Thursday I mentioned we had a lot of snow and how I was dreaming of a white christmis. Well that dream was over a few hours later. I took the girls to school at 5PM that night for their christmas dinner. When I came home was unpacking the dishwasher when I heard a big BANG!!!. When I looked out the window I saw that a small buss was parked in the back of my car, which was parked in front of the house.
It's an old car so hopefully it can be repaired itherwise it's bye bye car and then I have to work, get on my bike or take the bus to the things I have to do.
So you can imagine my dream of a white christmas was over in just a few minutes.
And I needed to change all my planns for the next couple of days. Now one day before christmas I still have to do some christmas shopping. Luckely the girls are at my parents right now so I'm off in a minute to do some last minute shopping.
Because of all the chaos I completely forgot to make a post of the card I made for the Cardmaking Class by Email.
Last Thursday night we made a nice card on the Scrap Online Group at PCP. And Friday I emailed the step by step instructions to everyone that joined the Cardmaking Class by email. if you want to receive your weekly copy of the Cardmaking Class just send me a email and I will send it over.

For my card I used the gorgeous papers Farm Fresh from October Afternoon.

Love the bright colours and great designs, and this cute image from Stamping Bella perfectly matches with those papers.

Well I'm off to do my last minute shopping.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day,

xoxo Karin

Dutch Dare Challenge #67: create your own embellishments

Hi everyone,
so nice of you to stop by today.
Today we had our first snow. The girls really enjoyed the snow and they were all wet from the snowball fights they were in.
Hopefully the snow will stay for another week so we finally will have a white christmas again... I'M DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!.
This week we have a fun challenge at the Dutch Dare Cards Challenges.
This week we would like to see your handmade embellishments.
Handmade flowers, handmade buttons... anything.
My handmade embellishments are the flowers.
I crochetted them myself.
Papers are from October Afternoon - Farm Fresh -
I used Distress Ink on the edges and the image is a cute Gorjus Girl.

Hope you all are having a great day,

xoxo Karin

A few days back I was contacted by Monika asking me if I was interested in joinig a last minute Holiday Gift Tag Blog Hop. Didn't had to think very hard about it and emailed her telling her I was in for the hop.

Cardmaking Class by Email (4)

Hi everyone,

can't believe it's Friday again. Didn't had the chance to make a post the whole week. I've been helping out at school again the past few days and at night I had to work or was to tired to do anything.
I managed to create a card for the Cardmaking Class by Email.

The ladies on the mailing list will receive a new cardmaking class every Friday, with step by step instructions for a card. They work their way through this class page by page so they have no idea what the card is going to look like.

Want to receive your weekly copy of the Cardmaking Class??? just me a email and it will be send over.

This week I created a easy card, perfect for those last minute christmas cards that still have to be made. Besides a piece of ribbon and a button I didn't add any embellishments. I think it's perfect this way.

For my card I used papers from Jillibean Soup (Grandmas Christmas Soup) and My Minds Eye papers from last year (christmas trees).

The ribbon and button are from stash.

Make sure you stop by tomorrow, because I'm in a fun Christmas Gift Tag Blog Hop which is organised by my friend Monika. You will see some great Gift Tags created by some very talented girls (Cindy Hafner, Maria Bell, Jodi Collins, Danni Bindel, Allison Filo, Denise Marzec, Melissa Sauls, Linda Beeson and Kim Hughs), some of them even have a small prize for one lady leaving a comment on their blog.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend,

xoxo Karin

Cardmaking Class by Email (3)

Hi everyone,
i hopeyou all are enjoying your Sunday.
Overhere it a day to do relax after all the excitement from yesterday. yesterday it was Sinterklaas in Holland and i spend all morning with the girls on the riverside watching sinterklaas and zwarte Piet arrive by boat. After that we watched the parade in town and when we got home it was time to bake some muffins for grandpa and grandma who came over to celebrate this festivity with us. The girls got really spoiled and now they have enough new toys to play with for the next couple of months.
While the girls are playing with their new toys, I finally have time to make a post which I should have done last Friday.
Friday I emailed the ladies on the Cardmaking Class by Email list the 3rd card.
This time I created a pocket card.
Want your owm weekly copy of the Cardmaking Class by Email??.... just send me a email and I will make sure you get one each week.
Enjoy your Sunday,

Scrap Online / Cardmaking Class by email card

Goodmorning everyone,
it's Friday again and we I'm preparing for a very busy weekend. Tomorrow we have to go to a Sinterklaas party over at Ron's work and this Sunday we are celebrating a early Sinterklaas evening with my family. The girls are so excited about these events nad I'm completely stressed out (not knowing what to buy them (everything they have put on their wishlist is so very expensive), that I'm glad when it's december 6 and the old man gets on his boat again and returns to Spain for a whole year (LOL).
Today I want to show you a card I created for the Scrap Online group on Paper Craft Planet.
A very simple lay-out, but with a lot of layers.
I didn't add a sentiment, because I don't know who will receive this card.
I will add it when I've figured that one out.
If you can't make it to the Scrap Online on Thursdaynights, the step by step instructions on how to create this card are now available by email. It's called the Cardmaking Class by Email, and it will be send to you every Friday morning.
Sign up for this Cardmaking Class now, because in the near future (probably after new year) a few very talented ladies will create a step by step card for the Cardmaking Class. How about Claudia Rosa, Maria Bell, Bev Rochester and Jaqcui.
To make sure you won't miss anything sign up today by sending me a email.

I'm also entering a few challenges with this card.

Stamptacular : nature-tacular

Dutch Dare: All in your pocket

Goodmorning,

I know I'm 5 days late with me card for the Dutch Dare Challenge, but things are really chaotic overhere. A few birthdays the past few weeks, our neighbours/friends having a little baby girl, buying presents for Sinterklaas, just a few additional things to my busy schedule.
I hardly spend any time crafting and as far as posting on my blog....
But I still want to show you the card I made for the 'all in your pocket challenge'on the DDCC.
Monica created this challenge and she wrote down all the instructions for this card.

Have to say I cheated a little bit, but I'm very pleased with the result.
For my card I used products that are in this months kit from the Monthly Card Kit Club (which is still available).

This card also fitts the next challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today,

SOL card

Goodmorning everyone,
as some of you know I'm hosting the Scrap Online Group on PCP.
We try to create a card online every Thursday night, following instructions given every 5 to 10 minutes.
But the past few weeks we weren't able to de one because of all kind of reasons.
The card I'm showing you today has been on my desk for a few weeks now waiting to be posted on the SOL-Group.
I was really looking forward in doing this SOL last Thursday, but sadly we had to cancel this weeks SOL again. The ladies who wanted to attend this SOL all were having problems getting their kids into bed. Normaly I am the one who has to run upstairs several times before they finally are going to sleep, but that night they behaved like little angels and fell a sleep right away.
There are also ladies who really want to attend a SOl but are having trouble with the timedifference. I have been thinking about this problem for a long time ('really can't do a SOL in the middle of the night) and I have come up with some kind of solution.
Every Friday (the day after the SOL), I will send everyone that is interested a the SOL by email. I call it 'Cardmaking Class by email'.
You receive the full SOL (pictures and matching measurements of every step) in a Word Document, so you can work on your card whenever you want.
When you've finished your card, just post it on your blog, leave me a comment on my SOL-card with a link to yours so I can come over to visit.
If you want to receive your copy every week, just send me a email and I will send you the copy of this week.

Now on to my card.

For my card I used the beautifull papers from Bo-Bunny and inked all the edges.
The image is a cute download from CC-designs and I coloured her with aquapencils and used sansodor to blend.
the background is sponged with distressink.
Thanks for stoping by today and have a great weekend,
xoxo Karin

Merry and Bright

Morning everyone,

just got back from a fieldtrip with the kids from Britt her class.
We went to a environmental centre near the school where the kids had to do a lot of fall themed assignments, like gathering certain leafes, tasting marmalade made of things that grow there, search for flowers that still bloom in this time of year etc.
The kids were having so much, they didn't want to go back to school. But sorry kids, mum is frozen and really needs a few big cups of coffee to warm up again.

While doing so I want to show you a card I made last week, using one of the cute CC-Designs Digi-images. It's one from this summer and right now they have the same image holding a christmas ornament in stock.

This card fitts the following challenges:

Craftycardmakers: use some kind of stamping on your card
Cupcake Craft Challenge: Snow Something
Digital Ink Challenge: Quotes
ATS Weekly Wednesday Challenge: use an older set

Card Recipe:
Papers: Cardstock-Color Core, DP- Basic Grey
Stamps: Image-CC-Designs digi image, sentiment-Autumn Leaves
Technique: Aquapencils and sansodor for blending
Tools: Border Punch from Fiskars
Embellishments: snowflakes and brads from stash

Instyle Christmas Card

Hi everyone,
nice of you to stop by today.
This week it's my turn to provide the sketch on the Just Christmas and Birthday Cards Challenge.
It's a very easy sketch, just the way I like them.
Don't get me wrong, I really love the Bev and Rach style cards, but for some reason I can't fitt all those embellishments into one card. I've tried for so many times, but they always end up in the binn.

Our sponsor for this week is Instyle Stamps and they kindly donated a few images for the DT to work with. Because I had to create a christmas card I used cute Sandy. I coloured her with my aquapencils and used Sansodor for blending.
I have no idea which brand the papers are from, just had a little left-over and this piece had no name on it.
Thanks for stopping by today,
xoxo Karin
